The leaseholders behind Fru Larsen’s journey to the present day

Fru Larsen Hotel and Restaurant is a charming, yellow gem nestled in a lush, scenic area of East Jutland—in the small village of Laurbjerg, located between Aarhus, Randers, and Silkeborg.

Since October 2021, we—Karina and Christian Grand Neve—have been managing the property.
We both have a background in the service industry, and despite our young age, we bring extensive experience in the restaurant industry from some of the country’s best restaurants.

We’ve really settled in well at Fru Larsen. Here, we’ve found a place where we can make our lifelong dream a reality: combining our passion for our work with our family life. Our constant focus is on creating a healthy work-life balance—both for our employees and for ourselves.

Our mission is to give our guests a taste of everything we’ve spent many years perfecting and honing our skills in.
This unique experience and atmosphere are created through a combination of food prepared by our talented chefs using honest ingredients, fantastic beverages, hospitality, professional pride, and warmth—as well as down-to-earth hospitality from us and the team that helps run Fru Larsen every day.

Christian is the acting director, and Karina is the HR and restaurant manager, serving as the primary point of contact for guests.

Fru Larsen has been around since 1979 and, ever since its humble beginnings, has been well-known as a great place to eat throughout Denmark.
Thanks to the excellent reputation Fru Larsen is known for, we have been fortunate to “take over” many guests who have been loyal to the restaurant over the years.
We are very grateful that many of these guests continue to return and warmly embrace what we have brought to the table and the mark we have made on the place.

We don’t follow many culinary dogmas.
Our dream is to give our guests an authentic, holistic experience. For us, that means the food our chefs prepare is based on high-quality ingredients. We use what’s in season, with a focus on preparation and craftsmanship. Simple food with a focus on great taste—just the way we like it ourselves.

In our restaurant, we offer our guests a personal and welcoming experience, where our commitment to hospitality is at the heart of everything we do.
